- Go to the Garden Gallery and click on the 'Upload Photos' link at the top right of the screen.
- On the upload page select the category you want to upload your photo to (tip - if you go to the category first this will already be selected for you).
- Use the 'Browse' button to locate the photo on your computer you want to upload.
- Enter a name for your photo if you want to change the original name (optional).
- Add a description for the photo.
- Add some keywords that relate to the photo - this is handy for anyone searching for photos with particular attributes.
- Click the "Upload/Submit" button and you are done! (unless you want to use the extra optional features).
Once uploaded you should be able to view your photo within the Garden Gallery in the category to which you uploaded it. It will also be accessible in your personal folder in the Members Gallery.
To use your photo in a post within the main Forums all you need to do is:
- View the photo in the Garden Gallery
- Beneath the image is a label "Linked Thumbnail:", select all the text in the box, right click and copy the link and then go to your post and paste it in where you want your photo to show.
- Finish your post and click 'Preview' to confirm it looks as you wanted then click 'Submit' if all is well.
The link to include in your post will look something like:
[ url=http://www.gardenexpress.com.au/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=48][ img]http://www.gardenexpress.com.au/photopost/data/515/thumbs/Tibouchina_lepidota.jpg[ /img][ /url]
Note - I've added spaces so the actual text of the link shows and it shows over two lines due to its length - here it what the normal result is:
You will see that the image included in the post is a thumbnail which makes it easy to read the post and if anyone wants to see the full size photo they can just click on it.
Easiest thing to do is have a play and try it out, you can always delete the post afterwards.
