Can Hippeastrums poke up through a Dichondra groundcover?

Postby Enjru » Thu Dec 20, 2012 9:57 pm

Hi everyone,

I have a mental image of a silver-foliaged groundcover area planted with Dichondra argentea 'Silver Falls', and Hippeastrums growing through the silver foliage. Would Hippeastrums have any difficulty poking their leaves and flower stems through a groundcover of Dichondra argentea 'Silver Falls', do you think?

Also, what is the best time to order and plant Hippeastrums in the Sydney area?

And does anyone know if Dichondra argentea 'Silver Falls' is readily available in Sydney?

Cheers,
Enjru

Mine poke through 10cm of sugarcane mulch. I do pull the mulch away when I notice them.
