alphitonia excelsa soap leaf tree - bug ring barking it

Postby gardenlen » Fri Feb 20, 2015 1:26 pm

g'day all,

i ahve a number of these trees growing as volunteers they are less than 1.5 meters high and tick as a little finger

something climbs up about 1 meter and ever so neatly ring barks the plant a groove about as thin as a large knitting needle though i do have one tree where it is thick as a mans thumb

eventually the top drops off

any ideas please, like having someone prune them.

hope all get lots of rain as needed and no damage, i took opportunity to plant a number of brassica seedlings out they will settle in well

take care
With peace and brightest of blessings,

len
