New 'Outdoor Area' Garden Forum?

Postby Wanderer » Sat Feb 02, 2013 7:10 am

Not sure if I posted this idea here before but sure I did somewhere? :-?

I would love to see a new forum here devoted to the 'Outdoor Room'
In other words outdoor entertaining areas, BBQ areas, pergolas, gazebos etc
In fact any place in the garden where you might have a sitting/eating/gazing/contemplating area.
Doesn't have to be structural, could just be a small paved/gravel area where you have a seat or chair or two

I love my outdoor area and I'm sure there are many on here who have some wonderful outdoor spaces of their own
It could also provide lots of ideas and inspiration for those who have just built a new home or bought a house where they wish to create an outdoor area.

I have had a look around the web and can't find a forum that has something like this.

What does everyone think?
Take my advice..... I don't use it anyway.

Thats a long time to get a new forum up and going.

Oh well I'm sure there will be lots of people that like the Outdoor Area forum idea ..........
that is if they are lucky enough to find my original thread cause it took me a while.
I thought it had been deleted

Not deleted, but I DID move it to the 'Feedback" forum where Ian was more likely to see it Wanderer. Had meant to leave a copy of the thread in the garden forum as well, but it didn't happen that way. My apologies.

Sorted now though.

Nice photos Jo
I've just had a professional photo shoot and video walkthrough done today.
House is now on the market
I'm hoping he's taken some great ones of my outdoor area
I'll keep you posted and give you the link on realestate.com.au when they are up

Then I will be looking for loads more inspiration when we buy our new house
which will by the way be in Victoria :D So a whole sea/tree change for us.....
Take my advice..... I don't use it anyway.

I would also love to see an outdoor section. I would happily be a regular contributor to a section dedicated to outdoor design etc.

Yes, i can see the advantage of having a dedicated sub-forum on this topic...i think it is a big enough and broad enough subject, and will involve people with a different skill set eg a builder on the forum asking lots of questions about growing roses will be able to answer lots of questions about building a pergola/deck/arbor etc. I'm in the early stages of planning a renovation myself and will have a lot of questions on this topic, and at this stage they'll end up mixed up in the generic garden forum.
