English elm dropping leaves

Postby charlie_bruno » Sun Dec 02, 2012 11:13 am

It has been hot, could this mostly be attributed to warm winds, too much sun and or the pot getting too dry? Ive just added this little one to my collection and it seems to not like the spot

Ok so I gave it a good watering and changed its home to a protected shady spot. Is doing much better now

I hope you haven't been feeling too neglected, CB. It's only today that the system gave me any indication that you'd posted here ..... over a month ago!!!

Because they have such a small area for moisture storage, most bonsai appreciate a good dunking every so often. (on top of your regular watering.) And as you've obviously worked out, they can heat up fairly quickly in the sun, too.
