Free-lance potter/ ceramics artist quote for BIG pots ... ?

Postby oproudfoot » Mon Dec 17, 2007 9:41 pm

Was wondering if there's any potter's/ ceramic artists in Melbourne/ VIC that could make large (2 foot long plus) 'bonsai'-type pots to approximate specifications, and how much it would cost... I guess the main limitation on creating such things would be having a kiln large enough to fire them in, and a lot of the expense would be incurred at the glazing stage ? Any advice appreciated ...
Cheers, Owen

Owen, why not contact a pottery club? In fact, if you have the time, you could join up, learn the basic techniques you would need (they wouldn't be difficult to make), and get a discount off the clay and firing to make your own?!

This could be the best idea I've heard in a long time ...
