Getting ready for Christmas

Postby Luzy » Fri Dec 21, 2007 2:41 pm

The plums should be right for after Christmas, anyway... The old tree was here when we moved in and has four grafts - or three grafts and rootstock coming through.

Looks like you'll go Plum Crazy dealing with a harvest that large.

Thanks, goodlife and Thee. It's given us an excellent harvest each year - lots to give away, lots of sauce and jam - and far too many for the birds. Though I shouldn't have mentioned them - they haven't attacked many yet, possibly as we've had a few families of butchers birds around lately. I'd better touch a lot of wood. :o

That looks so good, Luzy. We had a plum tree here at one stage, but it succumbed to borer attack.

Had the first few plums last night - not bad at all!

Veg gardener, the bird net and some of those Pest Guard bags are waiting to go on. Be nice if we didn't have to cover it up this year (yn)
