Is the Blue Rose a genetic impossibility?

scientist have been trying for years to create a blue rose, but so far they have not succeeded at this time....

roses lack the genes to express the blue pigment (delphinidin) however it is possible to insert a slice of genetic material form a blue pansy into the rose to make it express blue... trouble is the ph in the roses petals affect the color making them look more purple.. but that too will be fixed one day....
