ID for this rose ????

ID for this rose ????

hi all
i have been given this rose by a friend and all i know it is suposed to be some oldfashioned one, but it would be lovely to find out a name for this one...... it is a single rose..bushrose maybe ???? have no idea.... it is just opening up some buds and looks more stunning by the day........... any ideas ?????

It could be crimson glory, but there are a few red roses. Does it have a strong scent?

Just going by that top pic, I'm wondering if it might possibly be one of the rootstock roses?

My first thought was burgandy iceburg but thats not "old fashioned".

I would definitely agree on this one. It is Velvety Red Blossom on Rose Rootstock.

Hahahaha and that is probably what my Great News Rose is, that was ordered at a major rose nursery years ago, I sent photos, they did say it it "didn't look like quite like Great News but who knows" and would not refund..... :evil:
