Which rose gave the first rose bloom of the season?

Postby Handed » Mon Sep 02, 2013 4:53 pm

I'm in a cooler high altitude climate, so today was happy to see my very first rose for this season. Mine was on an old rose bush (well over 15 years old) up against the north brick wall of the house. The variety is 'Dearest', a pink floribunda with double cupped flowers showing the stamens. Nice that it came on the second day of Spring!

I'd love to hear which rose varieties other gardeners get their first blooms for the season from.

Our rose "canary bird" is usually the first to flower.
