Sharing My Weeds

What is a weed? Opinions vary depending on perspective, climate and individual awareness but rational discussion can lead to better understanding. However, be warned that though this can be an emotive issue with strongly held views being aired, common courtesy and an acceptance that opinions and circumstances may differ is required of all participants.

We get the top one too but we call them Goats Heads here in Queensland. Some people think bindies are bad, these things are so cruel when you get them in your feet

Grass weed 2 looks like couch. I recognise a couple of the others, but am stuck for names.

It's not like any couch I know.

No.

I did talk on "improved pastures", in primary school, with specimens from my grandfathers farm and both grasses are familiar but it was just too long ago to remember names.

Grass weed number 2 looks like summergrass to me (an absolute favourite of the local doves) - and I actually found it at http://www.atlasturf.com.au/technical.html

Also from that site, could Grass weed number 1 be Wintergrass? And Phil's Fat Hen also makes an appearance. (Strange, when I was a kid there were weeds around called Green Fat Hen and Red Fat Hen - and neither looked like the Fat Hen here???)
