Black Elegance

Postby midgin » Fri Jun 06, 2008 3:38 pm

I have been trying to get a photo all week...wet weather prevented my attempts. The small pot is relatively new...and the Rhoeo hasn't fully bulked up as much as I had hoped.

I like that, midgin! Excellent foliage choice, the colours of the rhoeo really sing in the black pot setting. :D

A bit of trivia... if you look at the centre of the smaller pot you may be able to see another small round black pot (is sunk into the potting mix), in that pot I am growing Acorus gramineus Ogon.
That pot has potting mix, no drainage hole..so is rather boggy. Because of the success I have had with this plant in a similar situation where it is thriving...spreading like crazy.. . I decided to try and contain it to a small pot. So far..so good.

They look great, I think black as a colour is greatly under used in the garden. :D

So it's a micro-climate within a micro-climate, midgin. Clever thinking!
