Perth Plant ID please

Postby bushy73 » Mon Dec 30, 2013 8:07 pm

Can someone please ID this plant for me? It is about 2.5 metres out of the ground, with some unusual fruit/seed pods at the end of some branches. Looks as though there may have been some flower at the end of the pods.
I am visiting family in Perth and missing my garden so spending some time pottering around theirs. Never been to Perth before and keen to find out what this one is.ImageImageImageImageImage

Can your friends describe the flowers?

Just asked my relatives, unfortunately they have not been here that long and have not seen any flowers. Sorry I can't provide info about its blooms!

The leaves certainly look gardenia like. But the pods confuse me a bit.

I've seen it growing at the bot gardens in Brisbane but never saw any pods. It's certainly a beautiful tree.
