Blue Flowering Shrub ID please

Postby shipschutney » Thu Feb 13, 2014 10:57 am

I have this very aggressive shrub growing in the garden about 1 1/2 metres high that produces blue flowers in April. It self seeds as small plants come up everywhere and I am constantly them pulling out. I never water it but it continues to thrive. It originally appeared in the garden about 3 to 4 years ago and it does look pretty when in flower. Has anyone any idea what it is?

Try Barleria.

Thanks bubba louie! I've looked on the net and found it is Barleria obtusa or bush violet. Description fits perfectly. Many thanks! :)
