I am hoping someone can ID this plant for me please. It was my Nanna's & holds great sentimental value & I have to have it inspected by quarantine to be allowed to take it across the border & for that to happen I need to know the genus & species of this plant.

I would be happy with just a name to start with. It doesn't flower as far as I know, I have had it for several years & was originally a lot bigger but I split the plant up into several smaller pots.

The plant is an aspidistra[I think the spelling is correct] or cast iron plant, an old fashioned plant used inside because it will grow in low light conditions. It does have small flowers at ground level, I have only seen them on outdoor plants.

Thank you so much, as soon as I read your post I remembered Nanna calling it that.
Well done recognising what it was from the upside down picture :D
Thanks again
