Plant/flower ID

Postby MojoMouse » Mon Mar 16, 2015 6:40 pm

Hi there,

This plant grew in an unused pot that has soil in it. It currently stands about 1/2 m tall, and is comprised of a single stem, slightly woody at the base like a sapling. It continually flowers at the top, as in the pic. I'm in Sydney in Randwick. The pot is in full sun.

It would be wonderful if someone could identify it. I initially thought it was a weed, but now I don't think so.

Cheers

Thank you, bubba louie.

A neighbour and I have been wondering about this plant for months after it first started growing. We decided early on that it was probably a weed, but thought we'd let it grow a bit more, out of curiosity, as we'd not seen anything like it before. The flowers are lovely!
