Postby aviper4u » Fri Jul 22, 2016 5:16 pm

Hello all,

Grew this spider plant from a spiderlett on my veranda and once established took it to work where it developed a sicknessImage
I tried to place under a flouro hoping it would get extra light

Any advice is appreciated I have since brought it home to recover on my veranda again and it is improving

Cheers

I tend to suspect it's not draining very well. What sort of mix do you have it in, and have you had water constantly sitting in the saucer?

i will only water once dry though yea after watering some water can pool in the saucer.......

soil was some i got from from a garden bed in backyard

should re pot or just water minimally?

the reason why i chose the spider plant was because it was meant to be a good indoor plant and thought it would last in the soul crushing work office environment :)

cheers

Might be the air conditioning or maybe not enough light. I have mine in the conservatory and it is currently showing signs of flowering. Pam may be right as well it could be the mix. They are usually pretty hardy. Hop it survives for you.

Yea Ac is very drying though the good news is it recovering at home.

I'll let it get better than try and bring it completly inside and see what happens without ac

If you used garden soil, that may very well be the problem. Try using a good quality potting mix.
