Syzygium Aussie Gem - Lilly Pilly Hedge

Postby Bec_m » Tue Jan 07, 2014 6:39 pm

Hi everyone, its my first post on this forum.

Today I got myself a bargain Lilly Pilly for $3.75 each marked down from $14.99!!!!!!! I got 40 today as I am using them for a hedge in the front yard (30 metres wide) and I will put the extras somewhere else.

My questions are do I plant them a metre apart? Do I just trim the top of the hedge so it gets thicker and they join up or do I just let them go till they get to the right height. Did I mention this is the first ever hedge I've had! The man at the nursery said they will double in height in 1 year.
Thanks :)

Your Spacing will depend on how wide the plants grow.
If you keep tip pruning they will thicken up.
