Want to identify a tree on my property

Postby jarnie » Wed Jun 20, 2018 5:04 pm

I have a fairly large DECIDUOUS tree which has bright green oval or round leaves in summer no noticeable flowers or fruit, which branches which are very easy to snap in half (when not too thick), is fairly easy to prune with a saw, and sends up suckers from roots which are sometimes 3 times the distance from the main trunk as the canopy and those suckers get thorns (not on main tree though).
It seems to be a pest to me.
I would appreciate any suggestions as to what it could be so that I can look it up on the internet.
Thanks
John
