Help me with "Sorry, board attachment quota has been reached"

Postby Frozzbite » Fri Feb 11, 2011 11:41 am

What does it mean, when instead of my photo successfully being attached, I get the message that says "Sorry, the board attachment quota has been reached.
I asked this question in the Newcomers Guide but only got 13 veiws and not one reply, so I am still completely in the dark about this.
I need to know what I am doing wrong.
I tried to resubmit a photo that I have taken of the same vegetable and the photo size is only 64kb but I am getting the the quota attachment message.
I feel like I am blundering around in the dark about this.
I have tried using the search feature about this but I either am clueless about using that feature or there is nothing there about it.

Are you uploading directly from your computer to GE? Or from a photo sharing website?

I've used the Upload attachment facility (tab at the bottom under the 'Save' 'Preview' 'Submit' buttons) about a week ago and it was ok. Is this how you were trying to upload photos?

Hi Frozzbite,

Have you checked the status of the diskspace allowed on your account? When you go into photo gallery, under your username, there is a 'status bar' that displays the space you have, under which is 'Disk Space Allowed on your account vs Disk Space used, with the balance being Disk Space remaining. Over and above that, there is the 20 pages upload (5120 Kb) per day limit. Though I suspect , from what you have posted that the latter is not the issue? The message you are receiving from the upload action would suggest you've reached your "Disk space allowed on your account' ?

Frozzbite

Try it again now, I changed some of the settings as although there was plenty of space in the Gallery, there wasn't when you attached it directly within the post. Now both ways of adding photos should work again.

Thanks Ian,.,yer a champion,.,it looks like you've fixed up the problem as I have just posted the photos easily via the GE upload attachment :D
