Beer and dissolved vegemite-water make great lures for snials.
burying a margarine container with a little beer (or vegemite solution) in it will lure and drown snails, keeping them away from your precious plants.
its cheap, very easy to aquire ingredients and effective!

Do you dissolve the Vegemite in the beer?

I've been trying beer traps for the last two nights and have only lured one slug to its death. Might be that they don't like hubby's home brew, though. :lol: Haven't tried Vegemite.
