Home Growing Tomatoes

Postby morganb » Tue Dec 13, 2005 11:08 pm

Can someone please help. I have been trying to grow tomatoes for the first time. I have chosen roma tomatoes although i am having trouble with them.

The stalk has gone darker in colour and the ends of the tomatoes seem to be getting darker as if they are dying. Why is this?

Where do you live Morgan? I tried growing Roma tomatoes here in Melb last year with limited success, maybe its the climate of where you live. My other tomatoes grew a treat as I had put loads of manure in the garden before planting. But for some reason the roma tomatoes where very bland in taste and not very plentifull at all?

I live in Sydney. Yes i guess it could be because of the climate. We have had many different shifts in the climate in the last few months. I have placed plenty of manure on my tomatoes also but the romas still dont want to grow.
