What Kind of Big Weed Is This?

Postby abrogard » Tue Jan 17, 2012 11:00 am

Thought I'd grow some eggplant but they didn't come up - or the birds ate them when they did - but this one strong seedling did come up and I let it go.... Now perhaps it is time I identified it and maybe rooted it out.

Looks to me like it might be castor oil plant, or maybe tobacco bush, something after that sort.... but I know nothing, in spades, nothing...

Can anyone help...

:)

p.s. good grief.... forgot to post the photo..

p.p.s.

Thank you, Golden Wattle, for your sublimely polite patience.

I suspect you'll get few guesses without a photo Abrogard. Can you post one for us please?

Thanks,

That was my first thought as well.

I'll leave it live, look after it, hope it grows into an enormous you-beaut sunflower. My wife loves sunflower seeds.....

Thanks for looking at it for me, letting me know what you reckon.

Certainly was a sunflower. Grew to a medium height. Is in flower now, setting seed soon.
