netting for mango trees

Postby doueymegan » Sat Jan 15, 2005 8:33 am

Hi help if possible we have tried the fruit netting from bunnings but have ended up with two bats in our gorgeous bowen mango tree......
Current loss of mangoes 3 to the bats 4 to us.....
gardening is patience and solitude rolled into one..... especially with my callas and agapanthas

bats

If the netting isn't set up away from the tree, the bats can still eat fruit through the netting. Perhaps you might consider cloth bags? The're calico bags with a drawstring that you can put around the fruit and leave it to ripen on the tree.

They're available online here if you can't find them locally.
