balcony vege garden - LED lights

Postby caroline massov » Thu Mar 01, 2012 12:11 pm

Hi there,

Does anyone have experience with LED lighting for growing veges on a balcony - I'm just wondering about using them to boost the limited sunlight received but don't know if they are effective for veges as well as ornamentals. Any advice would be appreciated.

There's a guy over at Folia that goes goes by the screen name Hotwired, and he is an optical engineer by trade and has looked into this a lot, and done his own experiments looking at the different wavelengths that different LEDs emit etc. I'll see if I can dig up the articles he wrote.
