tree vine ID please

Postby lakeside111 » Wed Dec 10, 2014 3:23 pm

We have recently moved in to a house within lake Macquarie nsw and this tree (a type of pine tree I think) is in my garden with vine wrapped around it. Please help me with identification and any tips in regards to removing it if it is going to strangle the tree. I'm not sure if it has already gone too far?

Thank you that is a possibility, I was hoping it wasn't a fig which someone had suggested. I have tried to get a closer shot from on a ladder. There is evidence of flowers or remains of flowers in photos (not very good though - cant get close enough). If it is Pandorea pandorana, wonga wonga vine will it kill the tree and is it an Aus native?

Do the leaves feel sandpapery?
