Okey dokey...what is this, thank you so much? ... A Dianella...or another Lomandra. Note to myself...the spikes are at 'calf of leg height'....lol...

Yes it's lomandra. Is it fairly tall Midgin?

No Pam, maybe 75cm or so....naturally, the leaves flop over. If I stretched the leaves upright...yes it would be over a metre. Is that a dumb answer? ...lol. I guess the answer is YES...lol.
It has been in situ for years with no sign of any type of flower or whatever. Things changed and it now receives more sun (the past six months or so) then these fat, spiky, very fleshy things appeared. I have a Lomandra in another position... it has more slender spikes. More sneaky...lol..

Ok, it's either L. longifolia or L. Hystrix. I have both, but can't really tell the difference. The ends of the leaf are supposedly a different shape but I don't remember which is what.
